Mountains of Georgia

Mountains of Georgia

Great Caucasus

There are plenty of reasons to make the journey to the Caucasus Mountains, especially when they’re blanketed in snow.  In recent years, the capital city Tbilisi has captured travelers’ imaginations with its effortlessly cool, Brooklyn-esque scene of restaurants, bars, art galleries, and fashion boutiques. However, the surrounding mountain villages have their own charm, cuisine, and culture, and getting beyond the city has never been easier thanks to new hotels, more flights, and even private jet service. Mountains occupy 80% of Georgia's territory, providing plenty of opportunities for mountain resorts development. According to the EY research, mountain resorts in Georgia have a capacity to attract additional 1.5 min visitors compared to current numbers. During the past few years, Georgian mountain resorts have been opening up to a global audience, improving infrastructure, and designing resort masterplans with the goal of hosting world championship alpine events. Georgia’s primary mountain resorts are Gudauri, Svaneti, Bakuriani and Goderdzi. These locations are considered as four-season destination.
